As the new year approaches, ROS is proud to present our first programme of the year - a deep dive into one of the most celebrated choral cultures of the world, the choral music of Estonia!

Following his Master studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, ROS Director and founding member of The ROS Singers, Xie Zhizhong, seeks to share his experience and knowledge on the choral music of Estonia, one of the most celebrated choral cultures of the world. Through active reading and singing of a diverse range of Estonian choral repertoire, we will discover more about the various music practices and influences of the music from the Singing Nation!

Having sung with and conducted many top-performing choirs in Estonia, including Tallinna Kammerkoor, HUIK!, and the world-renowned Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and having recently attended the 2023 Estonian Youth Song and Dance Festival (XIII Noorte Laulupidu 2023), Zhizhong is an active participant in the choral music scene of Estonia.

So join us to broaden your choral horizon and deepen your love for choral music of the world!

We look forward to seeing you there! And here's wishing everyone a Happy 2024!

ROS Young Artist Programme 2022

Supporting the next generation of rising stars

Here is a stunning collaboration between Elizabeth Wong, one of our 2022 ROS Young Artists, and the talented ROS Singers as they deliver a spine-tingling a cappella rendition of the classic Christmas hymn 'Mary Did You Know?'.

Meet the 2022 Young Artists

  • Riyan is an 11 year old with passions that include soccer, horse-riding, taekwondo, and Rubik's cubing, to name a few. Singing, however, is amongst his greatest passions. From pop to Classical, he loves singing them all. He recently won the grand prize for the modern and contemporary genre at the International Youth Music Competition organised by IYMC Atlanta USA.

As a member of the ROS Young Artist Programme, Riyan has had the chance to learn from and sing with members of ROS.

  • Elizabeth has been singing since she could speak. She likes musicals and anime, and is very active in her handbells choir CCA, ringing, conducting, as well as accompanying them on the cajon. She has dabbled in playing the piano, ukulele, and the violin. Currently she is crocheting a lot.

As a member of the ROS Young Artist Programme, Elizabeth has had the chance to learn from and sing with members of ROS.
