Hailing from the success of our Christmas concerts in 2022, The ROS Singers is proud to present once again, Christmas with ROS II! In this holiday season, we hope to share with you the meaning and memories of Christmas through songs and personal stories. Let your voices join with ours in our sing-along sessions of your favourite carols!

Amidst familiar carols and songs from around the globe, Felix Mendelssohn’s 6 Motets, Op. 79, will serve as the virtuosic centrepiece while Kenneth Tay’s Rorate Coeli will enjoy a world premiere in this concert.

We have been so proud of the young singers from our Young Artist Programme. This Christmas concert, we present yet again more young artists, who will receive special coaching to perform alongside The ROS Singers while our experienced guest community singers would be adding a richer sonority and texture.

So join us for a special night of celebration, community, nostalgia, and joy!

I felt a lump in my throat, hearing the younger kids blending their voices with the adults. I truly hope this experience was not lost on the young who joined these paragons of choral music on stage. I hope their parents will someday remind them of last night’s concert, ... that they stood on stage with these choral giants to pass the choral flame on to their generation.
— Joel Navarro
I treasured three things in the recent ROS concert:
Enriching the local culture through folk songs.
Engaging the public in communal singing.
Encouraging young talents to hone their gifts in singing.
Terima kasih, director Toh Ban Sheng and the members of ROS.
— Dr. Eudenice Palaruan, Choral Director of the Singapore Symphony Chorus
Roots, a 90-minute concert by a cappella choir Resonance of Singapore (ROS) was a reminder of heritage, home and what we cherish most.

[...] the highlight were the Malay songs in Peribahasa (Proverbs) by Eudenice Palaruan, with vocal accompaniments employing gamelan scales and drones to electrifying effect
— Dr. Chang Tou Liang, The Straits Times

In our fifth ROS Singers in Concert series, we celebrate our cultural roots and traditions, in search of a deeper connection to home and identity. We will premiere 3 new commissions of folk song arrangements connected to our roots: Gelang Si Paku, Singapura, and Peribahasa. Other local folk songs will be featured, including the much loved Rasa Sayang, playful Ikan Kekek, the familiar Muolihua, and nostalgic Guxiang. These newly imagined folk songs will also be juxtaposed with songs from the West that sing about unbroken circles and continued lineages.

This concert will also feature singers from our Young Artist Programme. Expanding on last year's "Christmas with ROS" launch where our young talents sang beautifully, this season, more selected young singers, including other community singers, will learn from and perform alongside The ROS Singers in our own folk songs reimagined, reminding the younger generation of their cultural roots. Learn more about the Young Artist Programme here.

Come join us in this unique cultural celebration of Singapore!

Join us as we celebrate three legends in the history of song: William Byrd (1540-1623), Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), and The Beatles (active from 1960-1970). From the Renaissance, to the Romantic era, to ‘60s Rock and Roll, we bring you on a rich journey through music about life, love, and everything in between. This concert will feature classics like Byrd’s Ave verum corpus, Brahms’ Two Motets (Op. 74), and The Beatles’ Penny Lane and With a Little Help from My Friends.

Merry Christmas! 2022 has been a year of many unusual memories, but ROS won’t let it pass without our musical gathering of yuletide cheer.

Celebrate Christmas with the ROS Singers in a programme of Christmas favourites, featuring Carol of the Bells, The 12 days of Christmas, John Rutter’s What Sweeter Music? and many, many more. Anchoring our programme is Poulenc’s monumental Quatre Motets pour un temps de Noel, a set of four exquisite miniatures which showcase scenes from the Nativity story.

We are incredibly excited this year to feature the ROS Young Artists for the first time. We were so impressed with the talent on display and have enjoyed working with them immensely. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness Singapore’s rising stars in concert!

We wish you Love, Joy and Peace on Earth, and hope to see you at Christmas with ROS.

[ROS’s] singers filled the suitably reverberant Esplanade Recital Studio with a cathedral of rich sonority totally befitting the group’s name.

The ROS Singers presents "Even the Sparrow...", an intimate concert that reminds us to enjoy the simple gift of life

What do sparrows think about? Do they, like us, worry about mortgages, exams, qualifications or politics? Join The ROS Singers for “Even the Sparrow…”, an intimate concert that reminds us to be like the sparrow - to take a deep breath, observe the beauty around us, and enjoy the simpler things in life.

A reimagining of our inaugural concert (A Romantic English Affair), our programme not only features crowd favourites by Stanford and Parry, but will also feature many new works, including a world premiere written specially for us by the world-renowned Slovenian composer Ambrož Čopi. We are privileged to be joined by Dr. Ryan Chow on the piano, collaborating with us on some of the choral works, as well as several songs for solo voice.

Join us also for a pre-concert talk at 7pm, to learn more about the repertoire we are presenting.

Join Singapore’s homegrown professional choral ensemble The ROS Singers in their inaugural concert, a night of exquisite Romantic British choral music.

Encompassing the gamut of human emotions, our programme ranges from Hubert Parry’s sombre Songs of Farewell to the plaintive Scottish folk song Loch Lomond, not forgetting the downright silly operatic parody Insalata Italiana. The programme also features music by Stanford, Vaughan Williams, Delius and more.
