About ROS

Resonance of Singapore Ltd (ROS) is Singapore’s first not-for-profit charity organisation helmed by a professional choral ensemble.

Our vision is to build a stronger Singapore through music, strengthen social resilience and uplift lives. To achieve that goal, we aim to share vocal artistry with singers of diverse backgrounds through performance, education and community engagement.

Why ROS?

1

Since 2020, more than 10,000 students have been actively involved in Secondary school choirs.

Few have ever sung in a capacity outside of their school choir, let alone encountered professional Classical voices.

2

Singapore aims to be a global city of the arts, but we lack a world-class, professional choral ensemble.

While young orchestral musicians have the opportunity to be trained by members of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra or the T’ang Quartet, our brightest young choristers do not have an equivalent professional group.

In 2017, eminent music critic Mark Rochester wrote,

“There is hardly a choir in Singapore who could successfully cope with a hundredth part of the repertory of any self-respecting British, French or German choir […]

and because of this, despite my absolute passion for choral singing, I avoid the activity in Singapore like I avoid swimming in crocodile-infested waters.

ROS aims to fill that void.

In our short history, the ROS Singers is proud to have premiered the music of
